England - Yorkshire to Peak District

The Calke Estate was eventually bought by the Harpur Family in the 1600s and Henry Harpur was given the title of Baronet. Their descendents were responsible for most of the buildings we see here today. Inheritance tax problems forced the sale of the estate in the 1980s and the National Trust took it over.
